1 United Against Tobacco: ISM NSS Cell Organizes “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” Pledge Drive on Campus

ISM, Patna, May 18, 2026: Demonstrating its commitment towards social awareness, responsible citizenship, and nation-building, the NSS Cell of the International School of Management, Patna, organized a “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” awareness and pledge programme on the campus on May 18, 2026. The initiative, aligned with the Government of India’s nationwide “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” campaign, aimed to raise awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and to encourage students and staff to contribute actively to building a tobacco-free India.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teaching staff, and non-teaching members of the institution, who collectively took a solemn pledge to make the nation free from tobacco and substance abuse. The atmosphere of the event reflected a strong sense of unity, social responsibility, and commitment towards promoting a healthier and addiction-free society.

The pledge-taking ceremony was coordinated by the Admin, Ms. Neeru Kumari, who administered the anti-tobacco pledge to the participants. Students and staff members attentively repeated the pledge and expressed their determination to stay away from tobacco products while also motivating others to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Director, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, and Academic Head Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, who appreciated the efforts of the NSS Cell in organizing awareness-oriented activities that contribute towards social transformation, youth sensitization, and the successful implementation of national awareness campaigns.

Addressing the participants, Ms. Neeru Kumari delivered a motivating message emphasizing that the youth of the country have a vital role in shaping a healthy and progressive nation. She encouraged students to serve as ambassadors of awareness within their families and communities by discouraging tobacco use and promoting positive lifestyle choices. She further highlighted that true education must inspire individuals not only academically but also morally and socially towards responsible living.

She also remarked that participation in campaigns like “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” strengthens the spirit of collective responsibility and supports the national mission of creating a healthier, addiction-free, and socially aware India.

The programme concluded with a collective resolve among participants to support the vision of a “Nasha Mukt Bharat” and to continue spreading awareness about the dangers of tobacco and substance abuse in society.
